A time-capsule near the Old Town Green in the old center of Long Meddowe. Take a tour and explore the collection which is fantastic yet rarely open. Try to visit during the second weekend of May when they are surely open for the annual celebration called Long Meddowe Days! The house was built in 1783 and in it lived the second pastor of the historic settlement just south of Springfield. Stephen Williams was the first Rev. and Richard Salter Storrs the second....but you can also learn some history next door at the Storrs Public Library where they have a history room. The Storrs House is well worth a visit if you have an interest in the Connecticut River Valley...then head up north to Historic Deerfield next.
